Scratch performance for Sound Day

The Basement 24 Kensington Street , Brighton, BN1 4AJ, UK

Time

TBD

I’ll be stealing my nerves to compose and perform a scratch musical piece for Sound Day. The piece will be entirely composed from field recordings gathered by participants over the course of the afternoon.

Max-MSP programming - Sarah Angliss

Sound Day brings together radio producers, community activists, academics, archivists, sound artists and others who work with sound. Participants are invited to exchange ideas about radio, sound studies, the changing nature of the listening public and how this impacts on professional practice.

Kate Lacey, Lance Dann and David Hendy will be speaking during the afternoon. Sound Day is curated by playwright and journalist Sarah Naomi Lee, in collaboration with Soundwomen Brighton and the University of Sussex School of Media, Film and Music.

Sound Day is a free event. If you’d like to participate, please send an email to:

Sarah [at] plentyproductions [dot] co [dot] uk before 13 June 2013.
