Modern Ritual II is the second in a series of new performance events exploring ideas of ritual through music and words.
I’ll be performing excerpts from my new album Ealing Feeder, on recorder, theremin and automata, with percussionist Stephen Hiscock. Dancer Caroline Radcliffe and I will also be performing The Machinery, a 19th-century machine-inspired dance devised by women keeping pace with machines in Lancashire cotton mills.
Music from harpist Rhodri Davies, percussionist Pete Flood and fiddle and recorder player Laura Cannell is also on the bill, along with a new spoken word piece from Luke Turner and Jennifer Lucy Allan.
Modern Ritual is curated by Laura Cannell.
