Tartu, Estonia, is the home of Prima Vista – a festival of literature and music.

In the afternoon on 6 May 2015, I’ll presenting The Man Who Bought an Echo – a talk exploring some surprising affinities between music making today and the pre-electric age. And in the evening, I’ll be working with percussionst Stephen Hiscock, performing live music to silent films from the BFI National Archives. The evening will include highlights from our performances for the BFI nationwide seasons Gothic – The Dark Heart of Film and Sci-fi – Days of Fear and Wonder.

We would like to thank Arts Council England, BFI National Archive, Cinecity, PRS for Music and Screen Archive South East for their support in making this film programme possible.
